Voluntary Disclosure of Carbon Emissions Information, Managerial Ability, and Credit Ratings

This paper examines the relationship between voluntary disclosure of carbon emissions information and credit ratings, whether managerial ability affects this association. I examine a sample 7996 non-financial companies with fiscal year-end in December listed Korea Stock Exchange Market (KSE) for period 2011–2019. Using CDP reports to measure information, study that, on average, ratings can be increased through proactive activities environmental problems South Korea. Moreover, managed by competent managers, positive association is pronounced, implying that managers encourage qualitative assess intrinsic corporate value. These results are robust even after analyses different empirical models.
